If you haven't been to The George at Graveley since its complete refurbishment, it's well worth a visit. This beautiful country pub has been transformed into a real destination venue, with stunning interiors, gorgeous gardens and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay all afternoon. We had such a lovely meal. We loved the cured sea bream and the incredibly moreish Old Winchester cheese & The George pickle crumpets (trust me, order them!). For mains, the Lannock Farm spring lamb was cooked beautifully, and the children's roast chicken disappeared in record time. One of the biggest reasons I was excited to visit is that Head Chef Iri previously worked at The Tilbury and The Silver Cup - two places known for exceptional food. After this visit, I can't wait to head back and try their Sunday lunch. The best part? It's only a short drive from St Albans, making Hitchin the perfect place for a weekend lunch or dinner. Have you been yet? If not, I'd definitely recommend adding it to your list.
